A group of farmers in the South West under the aegis of Oodua Redemption Alliance (ORA) on Thursday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital threatened to retaliate further attacks on their members by Fulani herdsmen. The aggrieved farmer claimed that the quest by the federal government to establish cattle colony across the country was merely intended to seize their lands and hand them over to Fulanis.
A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and member of the Abia State Advisory Council, Alhaji Suleiman Ukandu has accused the All Progressives Congress-led administration of being responsible for the killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen across the country. Ukandu stated this on Thursday while speaking to newsmen at a press conference in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
Suspected kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, has filed a fresh suit against the Police at a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, Channels Television reports.
This time, Evans wants the court to compel the police to immediately and unconditionally release his two residential houses located in Magodo area of Lagos State.
He also wants the court to order the police and its leadership to severally and jointly tender an apology as well as pay him the sum of N1 billion.
Suspected herdsmen have killed 25 persons in another attack in Plateau State.
Those killed in the attack are 19 men, three women and three children.
The incident occurred on Monday night in Dundu village, Kwall District in Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
Irked by the challenges of human trafficking and insecurity in Edo State, the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, has placed a curse on trafficking cartels and criminals in the state. Oba Ewuare II on Friday also broke the oath taken by human traffic victims in the past, adding that they were free to expose the perpetrators behind the crime.
The National Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Mohammed Nuru Abdullahi has condemned the recent killing of some herdsmen in Plateau state. Abdullahi in a statement issued on Thursday described the incident which occurred on Monday as targeted act of terror.
