Abraham Badru, the 26-year-old son of Hon. Dolapo Badru, a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, representing Lagos Island, was shot dead in London on Sunday night around 11 p.m., the Daily Mail (UK) reports.

The younger Badru is said to be only the tenth person to be murdered in 12 days in the U.K. capital.

Badru was shot dead “near his family’s home in Hackney,” the Mail reports.

The Directorate of state security said it has arrested all members of the dreaded ‘BASALUBE’ kidnap gang operating in Kogi- Lokoja and Abuja – Kaduna highways. The Nigerian secret police made this known in a statement released and signed by its spokesman Tony Opuiy said the Service embarked on a series of joint operations across the country. One of those arrested is Lawal MOHAMMED, a suspected financier and armourer of the Basbule kidnap gang operating in Kogi State.

The Police, Army and the Department of State Security (DSS) have said that they have successfully burst a planned kidnap and abduction of students from the Gombe State College of Islamic and Legal Studies in Nafada, a border town with Yobe State. Briefing journalists in Gombe, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shina Tairu Olukolu,
