Boko Haram terrorists on Friday attacked Garkida town in Gombi Local Government Area, Adamawa State in search of foodstuff and pharmaceutical products. Reports fear many people have been killed as the terrorist shot sporadically and also set churches and houses ablaze while looting food items from the town.
The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the attack saying personnel of the police, as well as other security agencies, have been deployed to the area to curb further attacks by the insurgents.
Sources say the terrorist made their way into Garkida through Bijibiji community. Also, the insurgents were reported to have attacked Damaturu Highway in Yobe state, checking identifications of passengers and taking some vigilantes hostage.
