The Oyo State Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Wednesday said it has intercepted 3,981.875kg of suspected hard drugs and secured 15 convictions in 2018. The State Commander of the Agency, Mrs. Omolade Faboyede who made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital disclosed that the seized illicit substances include Indian hemp and other psychotropic substances.
The NDLEA boss, also said six drug addicts, apprehended by the Agency were currently undergoing rehabilitation in the state.
She assured that the command would not relent in its efforts in the fight against drug trafficking, abuse and production in the state.
She appealed for collaborative support from all stakeholders to continually sensitize the public on the danger associated with drug abuse.
