The Super Eagles suffered a setback on Tuesday during the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers (WCQ) following a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
The first half ended 0-0, however, Nigeria scored in the 73rd minute when Victor Osimhen nodded the ball into the net as a result of a cross from Ola Aina.
The Super Eagle had an opportunity to seal the game in the 83rd minute but could not deliver the 2nd goal.
In the 90th minute, Tawanda Chirewa scored a goal against Nigeria ending the match 1-1.
The result put Nigeria in 4th place with seven points, one behind Benin Republic and Lesotho while Zimbabwe remain bottom with four and South Africa currently top Group C with 13 points.
