The Lagos state commissioner of police Hakeem Odumosu, has confirmed on Tuesday that three students of Dowen College, Lekki are currently being investigated over the death of Sylvester Oromoni Junior, a 12-year-old student of the college. The CP said, “One student was invited and two arrested; they are three, so one is assisting us. We just started the investigation. We have two in detention, while the other one is just a witness to throw some light on what happened. “We are discussing with the family on autopsy; we can’t do autopsy without the family we can’t do autopsy without the school authority representative too. We need to be fair to everybody, so there is an arrangement to carry out autopsy with every stakeholder in attendance.”
Oromoni Junior died last week following complications from injuries he sustained from an attack by a group of five senior students for allegedly refusing to join cult group.
Massive reactions from many Nigerians trailed the trending incident after a disturbing video emerged on the social media of a 12-year-old boy that was bullied in school. Many Nigerians condemned the incident calling on the Police to investigate the matter to ensure justice is served.
Disturbed Nigerians also called on Government to take cultism in secondary schools serious, as it is a matter that is becoming common.
