A cousin to the former pension boss, Abdulrashid Maina, identified as Mallam Aliyu has called on the controversial former Pension Reform Chairman to avail himself for a continuation of his trial by the court and save Senator Ali Ndume from humiliation before it gets out of hand.
Senator Ali Ndume has been in detention since Monday in Kuje prison on the order of Justice Okon Abang after he failed to produce Maina for a continued trial.
During an interview with newsmen, Mallam Aliyu Maina, a first cousin to Maina, said, Ndume has suffered too much humiliation on behalf of Maina, as we can all see he is paying the price for a constituent member for trying to be a good leader.
Aliu, therefore, called on Maina to come out from his hiding and save the situation to avert any untoward development in his case, saying this will give the court opportunity to finish the case to a logical conclusion.
In his statement, ” I have talked to Senator Ndume and some of his aides a number of occasions and I assured them that Maina would be available in court as soon as he recovers, but sadly, he never did. I have not set my eyes on him for over three months now as he has virtually avoided everybody.”
Meanwhile, Aliyu is appealing to Maina to come out from his hiding and face his trial.
