The National Population Commission (NPC) said it is all set to commence the 2023 Population and housing census. This was disclosed by the NPC Federal Commissioner, Clifford Zirra, in Adamawa during an interactive session with media executives on the status of preparations for the census.

Nigerian troops, Operation Hadarin Daji have neutralized bandits, rescued kidnapped victims, as well recovered several items including rustled cattle in the North-West. Nigerian Army confirmed that its men have neutralized armed bandits efforts to attack Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State; as men of the Service responded swiftly, forcing the bandits to flee with gunshot wounds during the pursuit.

The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC has threatens to mobilise for another nationwide industrial action following a legal suit filed by the Federal Government in court charging the labour for contempt, unless the charges is dropped. The NLC president, Joe Ajaero , made this known while briefing newsmen in Abuja shortly after the national Executive Council meeting yesterday demanding that the FG withdraw charges on or before August 11, 2023 of face labour wrath.

After a nationwide protest the Organised Labour has suspended its national protest and has stay action after holding a meeting with president Tinubu yesterday at the state House, Abuja. This was contained in statement issued by the Presidential spokesperson on communication, Media and strategies, Dele Alake. The leaders of the organised labour, Joe Ajero for the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC and his counter pert for Trade Union Congress, TUC, Festus Osifo were at the presidential villa, Abuja where they have agreed to stop the protest after president Tinubu made some promises.

The Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, following the protest by the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, against the removal of subsidy by the president Tinubu administration has warned the group against violent protest. The Labour Union had in the last three weeks been mobilising its affiliate members across the country to mobilise its workers for a mass protest on 2nd August, 2023 against the hardship inflicted by the removal of fuel subsidy on the Nigerian masses.
