The Supreme Court has today during the trial of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Agitator, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has declined the Appeal Court order to his release him from detention, as instead order his retrial. 
The panel of justices of the court on Friday nullified the earlier order of the Court of Appeal in Abuja which ordered Kanu’s release on bail in October last year ordered Kanu’s release and quashed the terrorism charges against him.

The ECOWAS Court of Justice yesterday struck out a suit by a Nigerian, Richard Ugbah, praying the court to order the United States government to allow him to complete his jail sentence in Nigeria.

The National Population Commission, NPC, has yesterday in Akwa Ibom state launched its 2023-24 Nigeria Demographic Health Survey Exercise, as the chairman promised that soon the general exercise would kick start by next year. The Chairman, National Population Commission, Mr. Nasir Isa Kwarra, stated this while performing the ceremony of rebuilding Akwa ibom state office, assuring that NPC would deliver a credible and reliable, population census that would be acceptable to all Nigerians in the country. 

The Supreme Court will on Friday, decide the fate of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, in the appeal filed by the Federal Government against a judgment of the Court of Appeal, which quashed the treasonable felony charges against the IPOB leader.

The Government of Rivers State had defended its decision to pull-down and rebuild the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex, saying the building structure has been grossly affected following the recent explosion that hits the building. The government insisted that the fire incident has rendered the main building unfit for human use and therefore need to be rebuilt.
