The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Benue state branch has rejected the federal Government proposal for a Fulani Colony in their state. The Vice president had last week during a function in Maiduguri disclosed that the Tinubu led administration has approved the construction of 1000 houses in Sokoto, Kebbi, kastina, Zamfara, Niger and Benue states with all modern equipment, School, clinics and vetenary and ranches that will be handed over to Fulani people as cattle colony.

Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima had yesterday disclosed that the post insurgency assessment conducted in the northeast indicated that the region has in total lost about $9billion, out which Borno state being the theatre of war accounted for $6.8bn. Shettima stated this in Maiduguri, Borno state capital when he flagged up the palliative distribution for states in the region through the north East Develop Commission, lamenting how some emirates were dislodged from their native lands without anyone to rule.

About thirty people have lost their lives in a landslide reportedly triggered by activities of illegal miners in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The Chairman Kuje Area Council, Abdullahi Sabo, disclosed this at a maiden meeting on Thursday attended by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, alongside the Minister of state for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud and FCT Permanent Secretary Mr. Olusade Adesola, and six Area Councils Chairmen. “There is the issue of illegal mining in the FCT. There is indiscriminate mining licences given out and this has led to insecurity. They give letters of consent to Chinese people.

There was serious chaos and panic as fire erupted in part of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria. It was reported that the fire started on Tuesday night. It was gathered that the fire was caused by a cable malfunction on the Tarmac, which resulted in the destruction of some parts of FAAN's administrative office.

Former Chairman of the Committee on Persecution of Bandits Related Offences in Zamfara state, Sani Shinkafi has call on the national Youth Service corps, NYSC, against posting its corps members to states like Zamfara , Kebbi and Sokoto states. He made the call today on a Channels Television breakfast programme, “Subrise Daily” reminding the federal government of the dangers involve in sending its youth corps members to unsafe states in the country especially the one infested by banditry.
