The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended 11 justices from the Court of Appeal for elevation to the Supreme Court. The recommendation is to enable justices to fill the openings on the Apex Court bench. According to the NJC, if all appointments are confirmed, the Court will have its full complement of 21 justices for the first time. NJC’s Director of Information, Soji Oye, in a press statement on Wednesday 6th of December 2023 disclosed that the council decided at its 104th meeting after considering the list of candidates presented by its Interview Committee.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has put up the Falcon 900B, an aircraft that is a part of the presidential fleet for sale and is calling on all interested individuals or groups to submit their bids. NAF disclosed that it was acting in compliance with provisions of the Public Procurement Act 2007, and further expounded that “the NAF hereby invites all interested parties to submit bids for the purchase of the aircraft. The bids can be submitted by email or physically".

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju as the substantive Comptroller-General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). The President also approved the appointment of six Deputy Comptroller General of the Service with effect from January 1st, 2023. The Secretary to the Board of the Civil Defence, Nigeria Immigration, Fire and Correctional Services, Alhaji Ahmed Jaafaru announced on Monday, December 4. In a statement signed by Jaafaru, the names of the six Deputy Comptrollers-Generals were listed as Zainab Lawal, Auna Usman Aliyu, Nandap Kemi Nannan, Usman Babangida, Hassan Sadat, and Emenike Ijeoma.

The Kaduna state government has revealed that the Nigerian Army had admitted the detonation of explosives in error at the Tundun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of the state, which claimed the lives of many on Sunday 3rd December 2023. The army, stated that its operatives were targeting terrorists when the inadvertent airstrike which affected members of the community occurred Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, said in a statement on Monday that the army claimed responsibility for the unfortunate incident.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has lifted the suspension placed on the Operation of United Nigeria Airlines. The agency, in a letter signed by its director of operations, licensing, and training disclosed that the suspension has been lifted and that the incident was due to a lack of adequate liaison between the lessor's OCC and the lessee's OCC.
