Military High Command have directed an offensive operations against all forms of criminal activities especially terrorism and kidnapping being perpetrated by criminal elements in different communities in the satellite areas of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja. As the operation is already ongoing across different hotspots in the FCT, the authorities revealed, no fewer than 10 suspects including one violent extremist informant cum collaborator, as well as two kidnappers have been arrested for interrogation, and very soon their collaborators will be brought to justice.
While talking to newsmen at Defence Headquarters, Abuja on yesterday, shortly after a media briefing, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Edward Buba, asked the residents of the communities and the FCT in general not to panic instead should collaborate with the military to report every movement they suspect.
Buba, a Major-General in the Nigerian Army, disclosed that his men in collaboration with sister agencies have activated all strategies to ensure the current situation in the nation’s capital becomes a by-gone thing and government must succeed.
Meanwhile he that troops would continue their onslaught against terrorists in the neighbouring states that share boundaries with the FCT, adding that ongoing military operation would make the FCT much safer than before, calling on the general public to avoid unnecessary alarm and go about their general activities without fear.
