Niger Delta ex-war lords including His Royal Majesty, Dr Ateke Michael Tom, the Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom and the Sekuro of Niger Delta, Asari Dokubo, Ajube Bibopori, (Gen. Shootaside) and Victor Ben Ebikabowei, (Gen. Boyloaf) met in Rivers state to deliberate on resolution to oil theft in the country. The former militant leaders and key stakeholders from the six states of the Niger Delta region met on Saturday at the Palace of King Ateke, Okochiri Kingdom, Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued six kidnapped victims in Kaduna state while one bandit was neutralised in the course of its operation in the axis. The acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Division Nigerian Army, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya, who confirmed the development in a statement issued in Kaduna, said that the victims were rescued on Friday. Yahaya revealed  that the ongoing clearance operation by the troops of the division had continued to yield positive results.

The Department of State Services, DSS, has linked insecurity in the Southeast to criminality draped around Biafra agitation. Imo State Director of DSS, Wilcox Idaminabo, disclosed this during a one-day stakeholder’s roundtable organized by Centre for Transparency Advocacy (CTA) on the November 11 governorship election in Imo State. 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Ola Olukoyede as the new Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), pending his confirmation by the Senate. This development was made known in a statement issued on Thursday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
