The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi has approved the redeployment of 46 senior officers, following the recent promotion of senior officers in the corps. The massive redeployment was disclosed in a statement on Friday by the FRSC spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem, saying the development was part of a routine exercise intended "to strategically reposition the officers for optimal performance".

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba has ordered the immediate deployment of additional operational assets to complement the efforts of personnel attached to ‘Operation Restore Peace’ in the South East. The IGP condemned the “recent spate of attacks on police officers, facilities and other police operational assets around the nation, particularly in the southeast” and such “unwarranted attacks would be strictly treated in accordance with extant laws.”

Former Nigerian leader, President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on well-meaning Nigerians to revisit the state police debate, saying it is the only way out now considering the overwhelming insecurity in the land. Obasanjo gave the suggestion when he hosted the leadership of the National Association of Ex-Local Government Chairmen in Nigeria led by Hon. Albert Asipa at his Abeokuta mansion. He commended the group for forming such a formidable group; applauding them that some Local Government Chairmen were far better than most of the highly placed elected leaders in the country today.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ibrahim Muhammad Tanko has sworn in six newly appointed judges of the Federal High Court and one judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court. The newly sworn-in Federal High Court judges are Emmanuel Gakko, Musa Sulaiman Liman, Aminu Garba, Bala Khalifa-Mohammed Usman, Ahmad Gama Mahmud, and Segun-Bello Mabel Taiye while the FCT High Court judge is Joseph Adebayo Aina.
