Contrary to reports that a Helicopter was today shot down by members of the dreaded Boko Haram Insurgent carrying yet to be identified persons in Bama LGA in Borno state.
The UN office debunked the statement say; the Helicopter developed some issues shortly after it took off forcing it to an emergency landing.
Shortly, the Military arrived at the scene to provide security for the occupants while emergency repairs were conducted and the helicopter flew back to Maiduguri successfully.
Meanwhile, The UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs posted on Twitter that no UN helicopter was neither “hit nor crashed” today Tuesday.
It further explained a number of aircraft, being operated by different aid agencies and the UN, fly out of the Maiduguri airport for daily operations to some other parts of the state and beyond, and return to the airport daily.
