The Federal Government has adjusted the 10:00 pm – 4:00 am curfew to 12 am through 4 am, as it continues the gradual easing of lockdown measures imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country. Boss Mustapha, Chairman of the Presidential Task Force made this disclosure during the COVID-19 briefing on Thursday in Abuja.
Chairman of the PTF while addressing the Nation stated that there is, modification on the curfew time after initially going from 8:00 pm – 6:00 am and 10:00 pm – 4:00 am “We are modifying the curfew to commence from 12 midnight to 4 am nationwide, effective from 12:00 tonight. This does not apply to people on essential services and international travellers that might be returning from abroad.”
Mr Boss Mustapha added that markets across the country, cinemas, amusement parks and land travel can now operate at full capacity - with the exception of bars and night clubs, which will remain closed.
He concluded by urging States considering reopening their schools to conduct risks assessment before doing so, so as to enable the safety of all vulnerable groups.
