President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the assassination of Mr. Philip Shekwo, Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Nasarawa state. Accordingly, Mr. Buhari challenged the security agencies that they can “do more” to arrest the carnage of violence across the country.
Late Mr. Shekwo was kidnapped by men underworld who invaded his residence in Lafiya, the capital of Nasarawa state on Saturday night and whisked him away to an unknown destination only to be found dead later.
Reacting to the incident, Buhari through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu ordered the police to immediately unravel the mystery surrounding the matter.
He said the only investigation would determine whether the crime was premeditated murder or kidnap.
Buhari commended the Inspector General of police for how swiftly he responded to the matter by deploying his men to go after the assailants.
Describing the diseased as a kind and jovial fellow, Buhari commensurate with his family over their loss.
He said,” His contribution towards strengthening the party in Nasarawa State will not be forgotten.
“May his soul Rest in Peace,” the statement added.
