Ex-Nigerian Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the video shared by SaharaReporters on Saturday depicting him abusing his estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu. The video showed both estranged lovers exchanging words. In his defense Mr Fani-Kayode, who maintained that he has never in his life assaulted his estranged wife wrote on Twitter, "SaharaReporters posted a video which supposedly depicts me ABUSING my estranged wife. This is nothing but a propaganda video. There was No physical abuse. I simply took the phone from her to stop her from recording me after catching her in bed with a married man days earlier.. "I repeat there was NO physical abuse whatsoever and she had been insulting and subjecting everybody, including family members, staff and children, to PHYSICAL and VERBAL abuse the whole day. As usual it was a nightmare!
"My words in the video are self explanatory. I urge those that watched it to listen to those words carefully. I told her that everyone wanted peace except for her and all she did was indulge in scandal after scandal. I have NEVER physically abused my estranged wife," he explained.
Earlier on Saturday, SaharaReporters posted a report saying that a family member of the former minister narrated how he (FFK) caught his estranged wife, in bed with a navy captain, Idenyi Akpa, at an Abuja hotel last December. The report claimed that the family source has a video in which captain Akpa admitted being in bed with Precious and stated how she lured him to the hotel.
The report also claimed that the young man is married with three children. The matter was reported to Asokoro Police Station, Abuja, where both Precious and the young man were detained.
Mr. Fani-Kayode was recently in the news for allegedly separating with Precious his fourth wife, after six years of marriage with whom he has four sons. The separation was blamed on domestic violence.
