The Federal Housing Authority has given estate developers in the following areas of the Federal Capital Territory a three-month deadline to normalize their construction approvals. The areas are Lugbe, Karu, and Kubwa respectively. The FHA management in a statement issued on Sunday, announced the suspension of all ongoing developments in these areas until the developers meet up with the required documentation. It also stated that all developers within these estates must report to the FHA headquarters at No. 26 Julius Nyerere Crescent, Asokoro, Abuja, starting February 3, 2025.

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has congratulated Amanda Azubuike on her historic promotion to Brigadier General in the United States Army. In a statement by NiDCOM’s Head of Media, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa praised Azubuike’s achievement, calling it a testament to her dedication, resilience, and outstanding service. Born in London to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean mother, Azubuike joined the U.S. Army in 1994, later becoming an aviator. Over her 30-year career, she has held key leadership roles, including platoon leader, flight operations officer, and public affairs officer. She now serves as Deputy Commanding Officer at the U.S. Army Cadet Command.

An organization called the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) has called on the Federal Government to look into the re-award of the Abuja-Kaduna highway contract, noting that the secrecy and lack of clarity surrounding the process violates Nigeria’s public procurement laws. The Executive Director of CISLAC,  Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, while drawing attention to the issue in a statement demanded an urgent investigation into the procurement process and the individuals involved, and stressed the need for transparency and accountability in government contracting.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced an online auction of 891 forfeited vehicles to the public which will take place on Monday, 27th January 2025, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and will be conducted through EFCC-appointed auctioneers.
