Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, has donated N100,000,000 through her Pet Project (Renewed Hope) to families of those who lost their lives in the recent tanker explosion which occurred on January 18 2025 at Dikko-Junction, Abuja-Kaduna expressway in Gurara Local Council of Niger State. The First Lady who was on condolence visit to Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago, Niger State Governor, announced the donation at the Government House, Minna, yesterday, to commiserate with him and the people of the state over the disaster.
The Governor, on his part, appreciated the President’s wife for her motherly support, and for sympathizing in this trying period. In her word, she said:
“We are aware the Governor has done so much to rehabilitate the families of the victims, so we are looking at either under 70 families through the Governor’s wife. Each family will have N1 million to help them settle and for other extra expenses like food items. We pray such disaster won’t happen again, and praised Governor Bago’s giant strides in agriculture, and infrastructure development across the state.”
The first Lady also visited the residences of former Military Heads of State, Generals, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar for a private discussion with the former Generals.
