In his pursuit for excellence and transformation of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) to the global best practice, the Corps Marshall Mr Boboye Oyeyemi disclosed plan by the Corp to upgrade its Academy in Udi, Enugu state to a degree awarding institution by September 2019.

 

Oyeyemi further added that adverts for admission and recruitment of qualified students and lecturers respectively for the institution will be made in August 2019 once the final approval is sought from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Also, FRSC is making an effort to have two more institutions that will be set up within the next two years.

One of the training school/institutions will be for the Inspectorate cadre while the other one for Staff or Senior Officer cadre.

The Corp Marshall also hinted on the 'Traffic Radio Station' built by the FRSC which will commence test transmission by the end of May 2019 or at most early days of June 2019.

Adding that, qualified staff are employed to run the Station, approval from the relevant Agencies have been sought, and frequency for the transmission has also been assigned for the Station. However, according to him, some equipment is yet to be acquired.

According to him, this landmark achievements will go a long way in enhancing professional services of the FRSC as well as keep Nigerian citizens well informed with activities and operations of the Corp for the overall drive of making Nigeria safe and free from avoidable motor-vehicular accidents
