Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has approved the release of ₦300 million to enable beneficiaries of the Hisbah Mass Wedding Scheme. The intervention provides each bride with ₦200,000 as dowry payment and start-up funding. At the same time, newlywed couples will receive household supplies to help them set up their houses. Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, Commander of the Kano State Hisbah Board, announced on Thursday during a premarital orientation for potential couples at the Government House's Coronation Hall in Kano. Daurawa stated that the financial help would be transferred directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts once they opened individual accounts.
According to the governor's order, each groom would receive ten yards of fabric, a cap, shoes, and food items, and the state government would furnish the couples' whole home. He claims that the goal of the intervention is to give the couples a solid basis for family life and lessen the financial strain that comes with marriage.
Prominent Islamic scholars from all across the nation are anticipated to attend and offer prayers for the newlyweds during the state government's lavish wedding banquet on Saturday at Government House, according to Daurawa's announcement. While advising the brides to provide patience and support as they construct their homes, the Hisbah commander exhorted the prospective husbands to treat their wives with love, justice, and responsibility.
Additionally, he emphasized the significance of using reconciliation to settle marital conflicts. He also urged those who had benefited from earlier iterations of the mass wedding program to come to the reception on Saturday, claiming that their attendance would support the initiative's goals and inspire the new couples.
