President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate appointment of Brigadier General Mohammed Fada as the new Director-General (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). According to reports, Fada is expected to resume on Wednesday and was briefed on Tuesday by the outgoing DG, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, who served for two tenures.
Major General Ibrahim is a graduate of the University of Jos, where he obtained a bachelor's and Master's Degree and later gained a Ph.D. in History from the University of Abuja.
He was appointed by President Buhari in May 2019 as the 18th DG of the corps.
Prior to his appointment, he was the Registrar of the Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno State.
