The Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare has pledged that the Moshood Abiola national stadium main bowl pitch will be re-grassed and rehabilitated to world-class standards by April 2020. The Minister made this disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja during the handover ceremony of the pitch to the contractor for re-grassing, fixing of scoreboards, and rehabilitation of the main bowl. While handing over the project to the contractor, Dare assured that the feat will bring back the stadium to global reckoning as the citadel of sporting excellence.

Training of volunteers for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics have been postponed over the Coronavirus outbreak in Japan. The organising committee of the event in a statement made the announcement on Friday saying the training slated for Saturday has been rescheduled to a later date.
