The Lagos Ministry of Health has on Tuesday announced that a new patient, a Nigerian female who recently returned from the United Kingdom (UK) has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Minister of Health, Mr Osagie Ohanire said the second confirmed case of COVID-19 in Nigeria after being quarantined has now tested negative for the virus today. The Minister made this disclosure in Abuja today, saying the country so far reported only two cases, one in the index case, an Italian businessman who flew into the country from Milan, and the second person was the person that had the contact with the index case.

In a quest to be more proactive in containing the dreaded Coronavirus, COVID-19, President Buhari has today set up a 12-man task force for the control of the disease. The task force, a team which is to be headed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha has a representative from the World Health Organisation, WHO as a member.

The Minister of Health, Osafie Ehanire has announced a second confirmed case of Coronavirus in Nigeria. information reaching Vigil360 revealed that the victim is one of those in isolation for having contact with the Italian who was the first confirmed case of the disease. The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this in a tweet on Monday. NCDC tweeted that "This second case is a contact index case, in Ogun State. The new case has been in isolation and was tested as part of our strategy to test all contacts of the index case."
