A total number of fifteen (15) persons relating to Lassa fever have been reported dead between January and February 2019 in Ondo State.
Ondo State has been labeled as one of the 23 States in Nigeria affected by Lassa fever, most especially areas like Owo, Ose, Akoko North, Akure South and Akure North local government areas.
The state Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Wale Oke, disclosed this in Akure, that majority of the death occurred in January.
He further added that towns and communities in the border towns of the state are those affected mostly.
