Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has dismissed rumors suggesting that he and four other governors are planning to dump the All Progressives Congress, APC, for a coalition party ahead of the 2027 political alignment. The Governor slammed the rumor through a press statement yesterday, describing the rumor as “ridiculously malicious” and the handiwork of “uninteresting political comedians.”
The speculation was sparked on a social media suggesting that the present political coalition being championed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, was planning to receive the Kebbi leader.
However, Idris reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, declaring that he is “made in APC, by APC, and for APC.”
“For the avoidance of doubt, he said, I am not a political prostitute. I will be the last person to leave my formidable and reliable party for any coalition, no matter who the architects are,” the governor stated.
Idris, popularly known as Kauran Gwandu, reiterated his commitment to the people of Kebbi State and the vision of President Bola Tinubu, and the APC as a party, noting that his focus remains on delivering good governance and consolidating on the successes of the APC.
“If they tell you again that Kaura is likely to leave his APC, tell them I will be the last man standing,” he declared.
The statement, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, emphasized that Kebbi State will remains as a beacon of the APC while dismissed any iota of disloyalty as a “dance of mad fellows in the marketplace.”
Idris concluded by reassuring Kebbi citizens of his steadfast dedication to their welfare and the continued growth of the state under the APC banner.
