Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand hailed the Gunners young talisman, Lewis-Skelly following his impressive display in the Champions League quarter-final second leg victory against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
Ferdinand said Lewis-Skelly is a special player, after the resilience he displayed for good 90 minutes at Bernabeu.
Discussing Lewis-Skelly’s display against the hosts, Ferdinand said the youngster is special and so calm.
Ferdinand jokingly said: “I’m sorry, is Lewis-Skelly really 18?
“His date of birth is right, isn’t it? He looks so calm and so cool in and out of possession.
“Before the game he was on a call, just talking and chilling. He is special.”
Lewis-Skelly will hope to continue his impressive display for Arsenal when they face Ipswich Town in the Premier League this weekend.
