Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been crowned the Women’s Team of the Year at the 2025 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards ceremony, which was held on Wednesday night at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, Morocco.
They earned the award following their exceptional performance and clinching the trophy at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Meanwhile, Chiamaka Nnadozie won the Goalkeeper of the Year (Women) for the third consecutive time.
Moroccan footballer, Achraf Hakimi,was named African Player of the Year, becoming the first defender to win in 52 years and is also the country’s first recipient since Mustapha Hadji in 1998
The 27-year-old finally secured the continent’s maximum individual award after losing out to Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Morocco also won Women’s Player of the Year, Ghizlane Chebbak; Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year, Yassine Bounou; and Male Team of the Year, Morocco National Under-20 Football Team.
