After 17 months as coach of Tottenham Hotspurs FC, the English club has announced the immediate sack of Jose Mourinho as its head coach. The news is coming 6 days to the club's Sunday Carabao final against Manchester City FC. Chairman of Tottenham Hotspurs FC, Daniel Levy said "Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a club. Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the COVID19 pandemic.
"On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both envisaged. He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution."
The club also announced that Ryan Mason will immediately take over as coach until further notice.
Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino as head coach of Tottenham in November 2019. The experienced manager has also coached other notable England football clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea.
