The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced the immediate suspension of all forms of football activities including on-field activities involving the various national teams, the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), the other leagues, Youth football programmes and "even street football" in the country for the next four weeks.
The Disclosure for the suspension was made on Wednesday by NFF Director of Communications, AdemolaOlajirewho stated that the shutdown was as "a result of the global coronavirus pandemic".
He quoted the NFF President, AmajuPinnick, as saying that the cessation will last for a period of four weeks, after which the situation will be reviewed in line with global events and trends. Pinnick was also quoted as saying that the only football activity that will be permitted was the ongoing work of the NFF Investigation Committee into the death of Chineme Martins.
