Sevilla manager, Garcia Pimienta has denied claims that he disrespected Nigerian international, Kelechi Iheanacho. Former Nigeria legend, Finidi George has revealed during an interview this week that the Rojiblancos have not treated his compatriot with respect. Iheanacho joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer after cutting ties with Premier League club Leicester City.
The forward player has, however, struggled for regular playing time at the former UEFA Europa League champions.
After much struggle, he has failed to register any goal his nine league appearances for Sevilla.
Pimienta was quoted by Marca saying, “We have not disrespected Iheanacho at any time. He has played less than I expected. He is an international player, established, and Isaac has played more.”
“It is possible that he has options in European football, but he has not played, just like other teammates, and no one has been disrespected. I think he will have offers, and he will decide. If he stays, there will be no problem,” Pimienta concluded.
