Fulham went down after recording 27 points in 35 league games. They suffered 18 defeats and 12 draws. After the game, manager Parker shared his thoughts about 2020-21 season.
Scott said, “We’ve been in and around this situation for a while now, but that doesn’t hide the disappointment and the hurt I fell now. I’m gutted. This year, while we’ve had some improvements and pushed on in certain areas, we’ve fallen short. There’s been some positives but our goal was to stay in the league; we knew the challenge ahead but ultimately we’ve fallen short. This level is brutal”
Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic gives his brutal assessment on team’s performance. “We failed today, and we failed this season. It wasn’t good enough – we didn’t deserve it. I’ve played football long enough to know that at the end of the season, you finish where you deserve to be. I’m really sad for the fans, for the people in the club, it’s really tough. Tonight we didn’t show big character or big mentality, we cracked under the pressure and we weren’t good enough or brave enough”
Aside from Sheffield United, Fulham and West Bromwich Albion are the only team this season relegated from English Premier League after one season.
