After an impressive 2016-17 campaign with Chelsea, Nigeria’s Victor Moses has been nominated for Africa's top individual honour alongside the Liverpool stars, Egypt’s Mohammed Salah and Senegal’s Sadio Mane.
27 other players, including Bursaspor of Turkey and Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong, complete the 30-man shortlist.
Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez won the accolade, conferred by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), for 2016 after a scorching start to the previous season for the Foxes but has not made the nominations for the 2017 edition.
The winner will be decided by votes from the Head Coaches/Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF, members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee and a panel of Media Experts.
The Awards Gala will be held on Thursday, 4 January 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
Previously sponsored by telecommunications company Globacom since 2005, Nigerian energy conglomerate, Aiteo Group, in October 2017, took over sponsorship of the awards.
