Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has lamented that pundits have failed to see the football side of the club. He maintained that people say all Manchester City have is money. Guardiola stated this on Wednesday evening at a post-match conference. When asked about his club's spending habit and the performance of the club, he told reporters.
"People say that all we have is money, but we aren't the richest club in the world. We also have passion and a great structure at the club, at the level of the biggest clubs. Every club works to improve their teams, when you see [Aymeric] Laporte play you think 'wow, what a centre-back'. People say he is expensive, maybe he is cheap, we will see."
Pep refused to speak on the possibility of Mahrez joining Manchester City and focused on his team's performance.
"I feel it was one of the best performances of the season, to play better is difficult but in knock-out games, finals, we must be more clinical or we will be in trouble. We created an amazing game to play, a joy to watch and to play that way but we missed a lot of chances and against top teams it will be a problem if we cannot improve. It could have been seven or eight - hopefully we can improve on that."
