The Federal Government has approved a salary increment for members of Nigeria’s Armed Forces. The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, disclosed this on Friday FG also approved the payment of three months’ salary arrears to boost personnel morale of towards their assigned duties.
Also, funds to clear outstanding pensions and entitlements owed to retired military personnel were as well released for onward payment.
Matawalle confirmed that alerts for the three-month salary increase have begun reaching military personnel, signaling a significant morale boost for the armed forces.
He lauded President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to both serving and retired members of the military; emphasizing that, addressing pension arrears for retired members remains a priority.
“Despite initial setbacks, be rest assured that the President will do everything within his power to uplift our military forces as they confront the challenges of insecurity”.
