Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, sitting in Lagos state has today sentenced Bishop of “I Reign Christian Ministry”, Lagos, Feyiropo Daniels, to life imprisonment for raping his 23-year-old assistant pastor. Additionally, he was also jailed for another 3 years for sexually assaulting a 19-year-old member of his same church. The presiding judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi, held that the cleric deserve to spend the rest of his life at the Kirikiri custodial facility as he is now a predator. 

A High Court sitting in Kano has sentenced five vigilantes’ members to death by hanging for killing 17-year-old Ahmad Musa (Khalifa) at Sabon Titin Panshekara of Kano State. The presiding Judge, Justice Dije Abdu Aboki, mentioned the convicts as; Emmanuel Korau, Eliesha Ayuba Jarmai, Irimiya Timothy, Auwalu Jafar and Mustapha Haladu. The culprits were sentenced on two-count charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide which contravenes sections 97 and 221(b) of Penal Code Law, though, the convicts pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Captain of theSuper Eagles, Ahmed Musa, has begged on behalf of Plateau residents to put an end to the ongoing killings in the state. Taking to his Instagram page on Thursday, Musa called for unity in the state.

At the resumed proceedings on Tuesday, Hamma-Adama Bello, who is the Chief Superintendent of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Head of Special Investigation Team, was fielded as the eighth prosecution witness to Oyo-Ita and others who are standing trial on the allegations of fraud regarding duty tour allowance, estacodes, conference fees, and receiving kickbacks on contracts to the tune of N3bn.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC will on Wednesday, arraign the former governor of Anambra State, Willie Maduabuchi Obiano before Justice I. E Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja. It was gathered that Obiano would be arraigned on nine count charges bordering on money laundering to the tune of four billion, eight million, five hundred and seventy-three thousand, three hundred and fifty naira, N4,008,573,350.
