The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has convicted Charles Okah and Obi Nwabueze for their role in the October 1st, 2010 bomb blast in Abuja. In a 4 hour, 30 minutes judgment, Justice Kolawole, found the defendants guilty as charged for being responsible for March 15, 2010, bomb blast which claimed one life in Warri, Delta State and the October 1st, 2010 bomb blast near Eagle Square in Abuja which claimed several lives.

The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), which is under the leadership of the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to jail and suspended all negligent security and political chiefs who could and should have protected these innocent children, from being abducted.

The Federal High Court In Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of the embattled former Petroleum Resources Minister Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke’s two penthouses valued at $4.760M to the federal Government. The forfeited properties are Penthouse 21, Building 5, Block C, 11th floor (Bella Vista Estate) Banana Island, Ikoyi; and Penthouse 22, Block B (Admiralty Estate), also in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The Nigerian military on Tuesday said it has rescued over 1,127 persons, including women and children being held under the captivity of Boko Haram insurgents from different parts of the Lake Chad region. The spokesman of Operation Lafiya Dole, Onyema Nwachukwu made this known in a statement released to newsmen on Tuesday. The statement reads in full;

The minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has described the abduction of schoolgirls from Government Girls Science Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, as a strategy by insurgents to embarrass President Muhammadu Buhari. Mohammed said there is no denial that the power of the insurgents has completely gone down, but needed to be relevant, hence, the latest abduction. He added that the dreaded group has been completely chased out of their stronghold in Sambisa by the Nigerian army.

A Cameroonian soldier on Monday reportedly killed a Nigerian fisherman from the border community of Mfum in Cross River State. Punch quoted a resident of Mfum, Alan Bassey as saying that the incident occurred on February 25 at a river along the border. He added that two other fishermen were injured.
