The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Nigerians to hold President Muhammdu Buhari responsible for the attack and abduction of some schoolgirls from Government Girls Science and Technical School in Dapchi, Yobe state. The party in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan commiserated with the families of the victims assuring of its support to ensure that the girls were released.
The Yobe state Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam has lambasted the Nigerian Army for allegedly deceiving the State Government into believing that the some of the girls of the Government Girls Science Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, Yobe state who were abducted by Boko Haram terrorist on Monday had been rescued.
Some of the schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram insurgents at Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi in Yobe have been rescued by the army.
Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, Director General to Yobe governor on Press affairs, disclosed this in a press statement issued on Wednesday.
“The Yobe State Government hereby informs the public that some of the girls at Government Girls Science and Technical College (GGSTC) whose school was attacked by Boko Haram terrorists last Monday have been rescued by gallant officers and men of the Nigerian Army from the terrorists who abducted them.
The Nigerian Army on Wednesday said it recovered a sophisticated rifle displayed for sale in Taraba state by a yet-to-be arrested gun-runner. The Army in a statement issued to newsmen by Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, Director Army Public Relations said the rifle was recovered during a patrol operation by troops of 93 Battalion. Barely one week after Boko Haram released three University of Maiduguri lecturers earlier abducted during an oil exploration exercise in the state, a suicide bomber on Monday evening struck close to one of the hotels in the University. According to the Cable, the attack took place around 7:50pm.
