A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday has fixed November 20 for judgment regarding the terrorism charges leveled against the detained leader of the proscribed separatist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The judgment date was announced by Justice James Omotosho, following Kanu’s failure to open his defense again, thereby forfeiting his right to defend himself, despite the court giving him six days to present his case.
The presiding judge stated that Kanu failed to use the opportunity given to him by the court to open his defense, adding that Kanu cannot claim denial of his constitutionally guaranteed right to a fair hearing.
