Following the surge of insecurity in recent times that has been ravaging especially the northern part of the country, the presidency says that Nigerians instead of fault-finding they should be grateful that bombing in Nigeria is no longer a daily affair.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina, while speaking on Sunday Politics, a Channel Television program on 20th Dec 2020.
According to Adesina, Nigerians should be thankful that bombing that used to be daily affairs by the insurgents has been reduced to its barest minimum.
He stated this while reacting to a call by Nigerians call on President Buhari over the rising insecurity across the country.
The presidential spokesperson noted that there was a time in this country when bombs were been detonated up to six-time in a day especially in the Northeast, but with the coming of President Buhari on board, the incident has been drastically reduced.
When Adesina was asked how he can assess the current security in the country he said, “Yes, there are times, a week, two weeks even a month that you don’t have all these things happening.
“There was a time in the immediate past when they happened daily several times. You talked of one bombing within three or four days.
“There was a time in this country when bombs went off like firecrackers every day.
“There could be five, six bombings in one day. Now, you can have two, three months with no single case of bombing.
Adesina called on Nigerians to be appreciative of the Buhari administration instead of dwelling on the negative aspect of it.
According to the presidential aide, life is a mixture of rough and smooth entangle, sometimes things may go sour but other times the ride is smooth, therefore, let us learn how to celebrate the smooth one and stop only dwelling on the negativity.
