The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Friday, July 24, 2020, has officially handed over custody of the three suspects involved in the incident that led to the death of late Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile on July, 14, to the Kaduna State Police Command, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The three suspects, namely Nehemiah Adejoh, Igbekele Folorunshoand Festus Gbayegun, were handed over to Edward Omosanyin, by the Commander 453 NAF Base Service Group, Hadi Ahmed, at the NAF Base Kaduna.
The Commander 453 Base Services Group (453 BSG), Group Captain Hadi Ahmed, while giving a brief highlight of the events that led up to Arotile's demise, recalled that on 14 July 2020, about 4:30 pm, a KIA Sorento SUV, driven by Mr. Adejoh, with the two above mentioned persons as passengers, knocked down the Flying Officer, while she was taking a walk along the Air Marshal Ibrahim Alfa Road, NAF Base Kaduna.
The Group Captain added that the three persons involved in the accident being former schoolmates of Arotile, at the Air Force Secondary School Kaduna, were on their way to visit the wife of a serving senior officer residing in the Base before the accident occurred.
He stated further that the NAF would sustain cooperation with the Nigerian Police towards providing all necessary support to enable it to carry forward the case to its logical conclusion.
“It will be recalled that on July 14, 2020, at about 16:30hrs, a KIA Sorento SUV with registration number AZ 478 MKA (Kaduna) driven by Nehemiah Adejoh knocked down Flying Officer Tolulope Arotilewhen she was walking along Air Marshal Ibrahim Alfa Road in Nigerian Air Force Base Kaduna.
“She was later pronounced dead by the doctor on call at the 461 Nigerian Air Force Hospital Kaduna.
“Other occupants of the vehicle at the time of the accident were MrIgbekele Folorunsho and Mr. Festus Gbayegun,” said group captain Ahmed.
