The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has foiled a kidnap attempt in El-Rufai Estate in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to reports, the kidnappers numbering over 15 invaded the estate around 2 am on Wednesday and shot sporadically.
The kidnappers attempted to abduct many residents of the estate but their attempt was foiled as a result of the intervention of police operatives as well as the military.
A fierce gun duel occurred between the security personnel and the kidnappers which lasted about 30 minutes and resulted in the kidnappers abandoning their attempt, however, a resident of the estate was reportedly shot by the kidnappers during the incident.
