Nine soldiers were reportedly killed by bandits at Sunke village in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Sources reported that the incident occurred when a number of bandits on motorcycles came to the security agents’ formation and began firing at them.
Sunke is 30km south of Anka town, the local government headquarters.

As the nation continues to keep it borders closed, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), has disclosed that 90 percent of cars in Nigeria were smuggled into the country by unscrupulous elements.

Following gains on the part of the Federal Government of Nigeria from the closure of borders, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has on 3rd October 2019 advised the Government to sustain the border closure until neighboring countries comply with ECOWAS protocols.

The visit came on the invitation of President Cyril Ramaphosa, of South Africa to discuss the welfare of Nigerians in that country.
