Fear and panic rose as an explosion hit the Ikeja Army Cantonment on 1st April 2024, the Nigerian Army however tagged the incident as a "minor explosion" and was suspected to be triggered by the burning of refuge and other inflammable debris by a farmer who cultivated the farmland in the barracks. In a statement issued by the director of army public relations, Onyema Nwachukwu stated that no casualty was recorded in the incident that occurred on a farmland near the Mammy market within the cantonment.

The 37-man tripartite committee on minimum wage inaugurated by the Federal Government has hinted it will reconvene its sitting by mid-April to continue its further negotiations and consultations on the new expected minimum wage to be announced by President Bola Tinubu come May 1, 2024. National Treasurer of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Hakeem Ambali, who happened to be a member of the tripartite committee, made this known yesterday in Abuja.

The Ovie of Ewu Kingdom in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, Clement Ikolo, Urhukpe 1, who was among those declared wanted by the Defence Headquarters for their role in the killing of 17 military personnel has surrendered himself to the police. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed the development. The monarch was said to have arrived at the state police command headquarters, Delta state, on Thursday about 6:41 pm. Before turning himself in to Police Commissioner, Olufemi Abaniwonda, the monarch spoke to journalists, insisting on his innocence.

The 137 Kaduna school children rescued from terrorists were today March 28, 2024, officially reunited with their families. The parents met the children in the presence of some top government officials led by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdulkadir Meyere. The state government announced on Sunday that the students were rescued in Zamfara State. They were returned and received in Kaduna on Monday by Governor Uba Sani.
The children were abducted on March 7 and rescued 17 days after in Zamfara State by the military.

The remains of the military personnel gruesomely murdered in Delta State recently arrived at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja for burial today at about 2:39 pm in ambulance vehicles, with President Tinubu Ahmed in attendance. On 14th March 2024, 17 soldiers comprising a lieutenant colonel, two majors, one captain, and twelve others were killed while on a "peacekeeping mission" in the Okuama community. Okuama and Okoloba communities in Delta State have been embroiled in a bitter dispute over the ownership of a stretch of land located on their border.
