Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has called on the Federal Government to prosecute, Bello Bodejo, the President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, within seven days for inaugurating militia vigilante. The order was issued by Justice Inyang Ekwo on yesterday, following the expiration of a previous order granting the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) permission to remand Bodejo for 15 days in the custody of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). 

Following the heightened tension over hyper-inflation that has hit the naira-dollar exchange rates; the military has issued a warning to those calling for coup over the hardship in the land. Nigeria is currently facing one of its worst economic crises in history since independence, triggering wild protest and still looming from the NLC, and in different parts of the country. Accordingly, the stretch has overwhelmed some people that they have started calling on the military to intervene and save the country through ousting the present administration.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of DCG Kemi Nanna Nandap as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesman, who announced this in a statement on Wednesday, said the appointment is effective from March 1, 2024.

He said: “We have now entered into a new cycle of leadership. Some new governors have come on board, while some are having their second term and still, we are faced with these insecurity issues.

Umbrella body of Nigerian lawyers , Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has called on President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency on the issue of insecurity in the country at the threat has continued unabated.
According to the lawyers, “what Nigerians require is a well thought-out, informed, all-inclusive and purposeful intervention, with as much necessary information made available to the public as made be dictated or permitted by the security situations from time to time.”
