The sixth batch of Nigerian evacuees from Ukraine have on Saturday arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. A total of 301 Nigerians, including students trapped in Sumy, Ukraine, were evacuated from Budapest, Hungary to Abuja via Azman Air, flight AZM2351. According to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), the evacuees were provided with free sim cards loaded with airtime to contact family members, courtesy of a partnership between NiDCOM and telecom company, MTN.

Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) camera was not installed on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle, which Oluwabamise Ayanwola, 22-year-old fashion designer, boarded before her untimely and unfortunate death. Speaking with journalists at an event to commemorate International Women’s Day, on Tuesday, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the BRT bus boarded by the late Bamise is among those procured by the Lagos government in 2021 from local manufacturers.

A Pan-Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho has been released from detention following persuasion by Afenifere on President Buhari and Benin Republic government. A statement released by Maxwell Adeleye, Communication Secretary, Ilana Oodua(100) confirmed the release today, Monday.
