The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) through a statement signed by its Acting General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Faithful A. Hope-Ivbaze, on 20th May 2022 has identified the mangled body seen on the runway of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos as that of a cleaner who was cleared to sweep Runway 18R/36L.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has appealed to the General Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church Pastor Willams Kumuyi to call off his scheduled crusade that was slated to hold in Abia State. The IPOB's spokesman, Emma Powerful as urged the man of God to cancel the crusade due to the insecurity ravaging the Southeast, stating that the people of Biafra land would not lose any life hence the group will be held liable for any death incurred during the crusade.

The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has placed a ban on the operation of commercial motorcycles also known as Okada in six Local Governments. As stated by the governor while in a meeting with Police Chiefs in the State he referred to the ban as "indefinite and total". The ban affects the whole of Ikeja, Surulere, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, and Apapa. He enjoined other security agencies will join in the enforcement while the ban takes effect from 1st June 2022.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, declined to grant bail to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, pending the determination of the treasonable felony charge the Federal Government preferred against him. Trial Judge, Justice Binta Nyako held that Kanu must explain the reason why he breached the previous bail that was given to him before he could enjoy another favourable discretion from the court.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that the Abuja-Kaduna train services would resume on Monday, May 23, 2022. The Corporation also said early morning and night train operations along that route would no longer be available to passengers. This was made known on Monday in a statement issued by NRC Spokesperson, Yakubu Mahmood.

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo, has revealed that after his visit with the detained leader of the proscribed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra land (IPOB) at the headquarters of the Department of State Security (DSS) on 13th May 2022, for a broader consultation to ensure lasting peace in the eastern region, that Kanu was not pleased over “sacrilegious killings of innocent persons, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities, including the brutal enforcement of the senseless sit-at-home, perpetuated by sundry groups claiming to be acting for or on behalf of IPOB.”
