In an attack at Kabo Village in the Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State no less than three persons have been killed following an invasion of armed men who stormed the community in large numbers on Monday afternoon 28th March 2022 while shooting sporadically.

Armed bandits numbering over 200 invaded the Kaduna International Airport on Saturday, shooting dead a security officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA). The invaders overran the runway and prevented a Lagos-bound AZMAN aircraft from taking off at about 12:30 pm. The attack forced the authorities to temporarily shut down the Airport, while the military battled the gunmen. The bandits who started attacking the airport from midnight were said to have been aggrieved that some soldiers seized their cattle

The United States (US) donated equipment worth $2 million to the Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Command, Lagos of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). This was made known in a statement which disclosed that the equipment was presented on Friday by the US Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence.

The United States (US) has announced that it has placed six Nigerians on its terrorist list for their alleged involvement in sponsoring the terrorist group, Boko Haram. The US Department of State had designated Boko Haram as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist Organization (SDGTO) on November 14, 2013. Boko Haram is responsible for several attacks in the Northern and North-Eastern regions of Nigeria as well as in the Lake Chad Basin in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger that have killed thousands of people since 2019.

Nigerian Army says troops of Operation Hadin Kai have overrun a stronghold of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) at Ukuba/Camp Zairo in Sambisa forest. The terrorists were said to have fled their camp following the operation carried out by the troops condemned Desert Sanity. In a statement on Friday titled ‘Troops of operation Hadin Kai overrun terrorists’ stronghold in Sambisa forest’, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Benard Onyeuko, said the troops, however, recovered various weapons during the operation.

The Senate has called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba to investigate and prosecute foreigners engaged in the maltreatment of Nigerians nationwide. This call was made during Tuesday’s plenary in the red chambers of the National Assembly in Abuja following a motion by Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo titled ‘Urgent Need to Check the Alarming Trend of Inhuman Treatment and Torture of Nigerian Citizens by Foreign Nationals in the Country’. The lawmaker referred to a case of inhuman treatment meted against one Friday Ndubuisi and a late Chadian who were both accused of stealing iron rods by their Lebanese employee in the Gudu District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
