Group Calls For Resignation Of Matawalle, Zamfara Gov Over Killing Of 200 Villagers
The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has called for the immediate resignation of Zamfara State Governor, Bello Muhammad Matawalle over his alleged inability as the chief security officer of the state to secure the lives of citizens of the state. The rights group made the call in a statement on Saturday while reacting to the gruesome murder of more than 200 villagers in Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas of the state by rampaging bandits.It was earlier revealed that the bandits, who were fleeing as a result of ongoing military operations, were trying to leave the state with a large number of animals when they attacked some villages in the two local government areas, killing over 200 people in the process.
