President Muhammadu Buhari has transmitted the Money Laundering Bill and Terrorism Prevention Bill to the Senate for expeditious consideration and passage. Both bills were accompanied by a letter dated 12 April 2022 and read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan at the start of the plenary on Thursday.

President Muhammadu Buhari administered the oath of office to new commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has unveiled a new uniform that will be added to its array of outfits which is expected to be worn by officers commencing from Tuesday 12th of April 2022. The uniform was unveiled on Friday by the minister of interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola during an event. The Minister during the presentation stated that the uniform will be added to the current collection and would be worn every Tuesday.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday visited Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai, and donated N50 million to the victims of the terrorist attack on the Kaduna bound train from Abuja. The former Lagos State governor was received by El-Rufai and Senators Uba Sani and Suleiman Abdu-Kwri at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House. Tinubu was accompanied by former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima. Others on Tinubu’s entourage include the former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Senator Abu Ibrahim.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba has posted Assistant Inspector-General (AIG), John Amadi as acting Deputy Inspector-General (DIG), Department of Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja, and DIG representing the South-East geopolitical zone. Similarly, the IGP also deployed Moronike Adesina as Commissioner of Police of Ekiti State Police Command and both postings are with immediate effect.

Armed bandits on Sunday night, invaded and killed many people in Tsafe town, Zamfara state. According to residents, the bandits who stormed the area, which is the headquarters of Tsafe Local Government Area of the state about 9.30 pm, murdered the son of the state’s commissioner for security affairs and a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Mamman Tsafe.
