The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, will swear in the 11 Justices of the Supreme Court whose appointment was confirmed by the Senate in December of 2023. According to Dr. Festus Akande, Supreme Court’s spokesman, who mad the disclosure, the judges will be sworn in on Monday 26th February, 10 am at the main courtroom of the court.

 

Upon their swearing-in, the 11 new judges will join the existing 10 at the apex court, completing the full complement of 21 justices as envisaged by the Constitution.

The Justices are:


Jummai Hannatu Sankey,

Chidiebere Nwaoma Uwa,

Chioma Egondu Nwosu-Iheme,

Haruna Simon Tsammani

Moore Aseimo A. Adumein

Justices Obande Festus Ogbuinya,

Stephen Jonah Adah,

Habeeb Adewale O. Abiru,

Jamilu Yammama Tukur,

Abubakar Sadiq Umar, and

Mohammed Baba Idris.
